Barack Obama made it official! On Saturday, at the Capital building in Springfield, Illinois he announced his bid. Obama Listed poor schools, economic hardships, oil dependence and Iraq as priorities. His main challenger and the frontrunner in for the Democratic slot will be Hillary Clinton.

If you have never seen the speech that Obama gave at the 2004 Democratic National Convention that helped to springboard him into the position that he is in today, its absolutely worth watching. Go here to view(about 15 minutes long).

 On his site, www.barackobama.com , he has set up a social network(myspace like) to discuss politics and others events around his election campaign. This is a definitely a newtork you should consider joining. 

For all of you Ipod users, Obama has a podcast that he sends up weekly with his thoughts and positions on the popular issues at the time. Gives a lot of insight into the direction he will lead the country once he is elected. You can sign up for that here.

This is only the beginning of what will prove to be a long and nasty battle to become the first African-American elected President. Let the journey begin!
