Norbit Number One At The Box Office

Despite the protests, Eddie Murphy held the top spot at the box office with his new movie Norbit, bringing in $31.3 million in the first weekend. Norbit was able to bring in more than $20 million more than the second place movie for the weekend.
This is the 14th #1 movie for Eddie Murphy. That is a lot and something that goes under the radar. I wonder how many other actors have a resume like that. That’s solid. Congrats Eddie!

all it was, was pure hate on eddie. the man is funny as hell. and to say this movie, where eddie plays 3 or 4 different funny ass character isn’t up there with Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop, The Nutty Professor, or Daddy Daycare and Dr. Doolittle is bull! I believe all thats going on right now is that people are pissed at the whole Scary spice baby thing. If he is the father, he needs to take care of that. but that has nothing to do with how funny he has been, is, and will be.
Eddie Murphy, regardless of any “one” veiw of his sense of humor or talent has sustained a familiar and household consitancy as a comedian in the industry–for decades–So regardless of whether we like or even get his humor at times…the proof is in the paper, and he’s got lots of it!
