 Don Cheadle, one of Hollywood’s most underrated actors will be hitting the silver screen next week in a movie titled Talk To Me. In Talk To Me he portrays lead character Ralph Waldo “Petey” Greene Jr, an ex-con who talks his way into a gig at a radio station and later into the homes of black folks in the D.C. area. Petey’s mix of humor and “the truth” stirs up controversy as well as success at WOL-AM catapulting the station to new heights. He’s joined by Cedric the Entertainer, Taraji P. Henson, and Chiwetel ( Denzel’s partner in Inside Man) in a story that’s sure to get us out to see it and real R&B and Soul to make you think back to a time when the music stood for something. You can view the trailer for the flick here. It debuts July 13th in limited release. Tell me what you think of it.
Hi Mr. Cheadle
I never knew much about you other than you being an actor, after watching portions of the BET Awards the other night. I stumble across you being presented an award for something that is dear to me. I could not hold back my tears knowing that Africa is dear to your heart, many of us often consider ourselves African-American but do nothing about helping our people. As poor black person with limited education as you can probably tell from this letter. My point is helping people especially poor African people who can’t help themselves is very important me, as it is to you,Oprah & countless others both black and white. I often look at the watch people of the Sierra Leone, Congo, Cameroon and several other countries where the people don’t have clean drinking water.I have some money not much I would like to know how I could help you with improving their lives. I/we really appreciate what Oprah is doing for the girls in South Africa. We need to provide education for the boys maybe not to that magnitude but schools including vocational training that will help them to help themselves. We often glorify hip hop entertainers. It appears that they would interested in getting together purchasing trailers to donate to township so these mothers would not have to walk for miles or days seeking medical treatment for their children or themselves. Again I don’t have a lot of money however I’m willing to invest in our people to the best of my ability attempting to purchase a well for clean water.
