Racist Bastard? New DC Mayor Causes Some Controversy

Columnist Robert N. Taylor certainly thinks Adrian Fenty is suffering from some self-hatred.  Check out his column below.

By In a city which is nearly 60 percent African American, Washington, D.C.’s newly elected Black Mayor Adrian Fenty has somehow managed to fill the top ten most powerful positions in his cabinet with five whites, three Asians, one Hispanic and just one black.

The above fact has been overshadowed by the controversy over his selection of Korean American Michelle Rhee to be chancellor of the city’s public schools. Rhee has minimal teaching experience, admits she has had “difficulty” dealing with black school children and acknowledges that students ran her out of the classroom when she taught briefly in a low-income neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland.

Amazingly, Fenty is able to stare directly into a camera and tell the citizens of the nation’s capital that Ms. Rhee was selected because she is “the best person for the job” of turning around the city’s troubled, overwhelmingly black public school system. If that is true, then it constitutes an incredibly damning indictment and slap in the face to the thousands of black educators and administrators throughout the nation.

Do Fenty’s actions in Washington, D.C. mean he is a new-style or neo-Uncle Tom showing deference to whites at the expense of blacks? I think not. But what it does represent is a socio-cultural “disease” which plagues many blacks. I call this mental affliction “extreme integration ideology.” Blacks holding this belief do not shuffle and bow like the Uncle Tom of old but deep inside their souls they actually believe that blacks cannot accomplish anything meaningful unless whites (and increasingly Asians) are involved.

As suggested above, this mental affliction is common among many ordinary black citizens as well as among some of our most prominent civil rights leaders. For example, there can now be little doubt that when it comes to public school education, much of our civil rights leadership spent far too much time trying to figure ways to just get black students in the same classrooms with white students rather than focusing on how best to establish programs and standards which would bring about the quality education of black youth.

Do not misunderstand me. I believe in a reasonably integrated society but at its root “extreme integration” is actually a form of black self-hatred because it tells our youth that we cannot accomplish anything meaningful or even solve our own problems unless whites are present and preferably in leadership.

And while they will never admit it, blacks holding extreme integration ideology believe that whites (and increasingly Asians) are somehow superior to blacks. This appears to be Adrian Fenty’s problem. Sadly, he is not the only black disabled by this mental affliction.

What do ya’ll think?  Should DC’s new Mayor be more loyal to the people that elected him, or should he be politically saavy like it appears he is doing? Should Black people always be loyal to Black people? Or is that kind of racial loyalty what led the US to need programs like Affirmative Action? let me know what you think.
