I really think black love is going and gone. Everytime i watch TV I never a household with two parents that aren't fighting or calling each other out of their names. I'm only 17 and I notice it alot and I've seen true love in my family. But celebrity's will do ANYTHING to be in the spotlight and for some weird reason getting married for two days and driving drunk will give them all the spotlight they want.

No, you are not way off. It has died. Something in our society has died.

It's bad enough that everyday Black men and women are experiencing difficulty with commitment and respect. Then you get a mogul like Eddie Murphy knowingly and with permission impregnate a woman and insinuate that it's not his child. Check out Essence.com for the story. I was not taken by surprise by Murphy though. I always felt somehow that his wife received a raw deal in that marriage.

I don't know if celebrity's love and marriages are "tools to make money" but their relationships should certainly be tools to help rebuild the Black community and that sure ain't happening.

This lack of true love and commitment is rampant in our community regardless of money, fame, etc.

I too am proud of Will and Jada. But honestly, I just hold my breath and fervently pray for Black couples who appear to be holding it together. Others: Denzel and Pauletta, Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya, etc.
