How long has Cincinnati been racist? On this day in 1867 more than 1000 Black people left the city for Canada followin Race Riots.

Race Riots also marred Athens, Alabama on this date in 1944

Carl Lewis matched Jesse Owens record of four Gold Medals at the Los Angeles Olympics on this date in 1984

Colin Powell was named Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on this date in 1989.  He was the highest ranking military offical in the country at the time.
