Hilary Clinton Donates $5 Million To Her Own Campaign
Posted by BrianI hoped she ran this by Bill before she wrote the check. While Barack Obama set a record in January raising $32 million, Hilary had to chip in $5 million of her own money to her campaign. That was to offset the $13 million that she raised, less than half of Obama.
Is putting $5 million towards a job that pays $400,000 a good investment? Maybe so if you have a bunch things lined up to hook up your homies. George W. would probably say it is worth ten times that much if not more. I would like to be a fly on the wall when her and Bill have that talk when she loses.
Everybody Was A Winner On Super Tuesday
Posted by BrianNot sure how this happens, but both Clinton and Obama say they won last night. I think the only true winner last night was CNN as I stayed up way too late trying to see what would happen. As far as results, Obama won 13 States compared to Clinton’s 9 States, but the important thing that matters is delegate votes, which Hilary is leading 825 to 732. So this was essentially a tie depending on who you ask since over 2,100 delegates are needed to gain the parties nomination. You can go to any number of sites to see results, but here are a couple of stats that I found interesting:
-
In Georgia, 88% of Black voters selected Obama. This is much higher than expected.
-
70% of Hispanics in California voted for Obama. This is significant because Hispanics make up 30% of the population of Califronia. Here is an interesting post that I read questioning whether Blacks have been betrayed by Hispanics.
-
Utah, Idaho, and Kansas were three of the states that Obama won on Tuesday. I would have lost that bet.
-
Almost 90% of Blacks in Illinois voted for Obama. Not so surprising since it is his home state.
-
Obama and Clinton spent over $21 million on TV Advertising in the past two weeks
-
Clinton has challenged Obama to a weekly debate because she does not have enough money to keep buying ads
This will be a tight race throughout with some pundits predicting both may head to the democratic convention without enough votes to secure the nomination. Obama is expected to fair well in the primaries over the next week which include Louisiana, Washington DC, and Maryland.
This is my first time paying attention this closely to Super Tuesday and my biggest take away for next time is just go to bed and read about it in the morning. That three hours California is behind us is no joke.
Tyra Jealous Of Oprah
Posted by BrianCan’t say that I blame her. Tyra took a lie detector test on her show today and when asked if she was jealous of Oprah, she said “No.” When the results were revealed, it showed she was lying.
Watching that clip I was expecting Oprah to come running out the back yelling “I’m not that babies mama.” The lie detector tests need to stop.
If You Could Read Minds….
Posted by BrianIt is hard for me to take people out of the character they play on TV sometimes and this would be one of those times. Felicia “Snoop” Pearson bumped into(at least she wishes she had) Angel Lola Lov last night at a party.
If you could read Snoop’s mind it would say______________.

Oprah Responds To Her Critics About Endorsing Obama
Posted by BrianOprah gained my respect with this speech at her most visit to the campaign trail for Barack Obama. A couple of months back Oprah received a lot of push back from her viewers who felt that she was betraying women and the people who supported her show by not endorsing Hilary Clinton. Many felt that as a women who has gain much of her popularity from a predominately base of women, more particularly white women, that she should automatically endorse Clinton.
This video answers all of those questions and what she thinks about what people have to say about her choice to endorse Obama. You can’t help but respect this type of response. I think she even became a long shot at getting her hood pass back when she hit them with “Don’t play me small.” If the N-word had not been outlawed, I think it would have made a nice punctuation at the end of that sentence.

Noticing A Trend: Hilary Cries Before Election Day
Posted by BrianMaybe it is a mere coincidence that both times that Hilary Clinton has cried on the campaign trail it is the day before election day. It could be a coincidence, but I doubt it. While at a campaign stop at Yale University yesterday, Hilary again shed some tears.
I understand that women are emotional and crying is not unheard of, but I find I would find it insulting if I was a female and she played this card to manipulate women before election day. Women are the people she was able to sway the last time she cried and is the same base of people she is going after with the bout of crying.
If she is truly that emotional and cries so easily, will she do the same thing when she faces the adversity and tough decisions associated with the presidency? That makes me nervous.
Also, if you are in one of the 24 states that have a primary or caucus today, make sure you get out and vote. You have no reason to complain afterwards if you don’t do your part to get the best person elected. Even if you think it is a lost cause, still get out there and vote. Even in states that are supposedly decided, strange things have happened!
