Mike Hucakbee Defends Barack Obama
Posted by BrianYou have respect Mike Huckabee for being truthful and expressing his real thoughts in a time when it is definitely not the most popular thing to do in the Republican Party. In response to Barack Obama’s speech about race and dealing with the offensive comments of his former paster Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Huckabee says:
And one other thing I think we’ve got to remember: As easy as it is for those of us who are white to look back and say, “That’s a terrible statement,” I grew up in a very segregated South, and I think that you have to cut some slack. And I’m going to be probably the only conservative in America who’s going to say something like this, but I’m just telling you: We’ve got to cut some slack to people who grew up being called names, being told, “You have to sit in the balcony when you go to the movie. You have to go to the back door to go into the restaurant. And you can’t sit out there with everyone else. There’s a separate waiting room in the doctor’s office. Here’s where you sit on the bus.” And you know what? Sometimes people do have a chip on their shoulder and resentment. And you have to just say, I probably would too. I probably would too. In fact, I may have had a more, more of a chip on my shoulder had it been me.
Very few people would even consider viewing the situation from the perspective of the person who said and even less would say it publicly. Much respect to Mike Huckabee for doing so.

Keith Olbermann Speaks On Hilary Clinton

Keith Olbermann Speaks on Hillary Clinton.
If you are not familiar with Keith Olbermann, he is a tv personality on MSNBC that usually has pretty well thought out opinions on a variety of topics that are usually on point. I remember him from his days on Sportscenter.
Olbermann makes some really good points in his passionate speech about his thought regarding Hillary Clinton and her response, or lack thereof, to the comments made by Geraldine Ferraro. What I find most interesting in this video is the pure statement of facts. If you have been reading this blog, you know that I am a supporter of Barack Obama, but a lot of the coverage of these campaigns from all angles is much more opinion than facts. Olbermann did a very good job of backing up his thoughts with examples of actual events that have occurred. This is the type of coverage we need from all news outlets.
Come On Eddie
Posted by BrianEddie says he was tricked by Mel B. into having a baby and that is why he will acknowledge the kid. Eddie says they only had sex three times and she swore she was on birth control. (Did Eddie really fall for that one)?
Although Eddie Murphy accepts that Angel is his daughter, he has said that he won’t see the little girl, because he doesn’t want to set eyes on Mel. He says he will have to wait until Angel is older before he can get to know her without any interference from her mother.
That is pretty weak excuse if that is really true. One for Eddie to fall for that line, but he has enough kids already to know that he is way too fertile to playing around like that. I say, man up, and deal with the baby even if it requires some interaction with Mel B. She was tolerable for those three months.
Lebron James Covers Vogue Magazine
Posted by BrianLebron James becomes only the third man in the 116 year history of Vogue Magazine to make the cover. He is featured on the cover with Gisele Bunchen (Tom Brady’s girlfriend).
Lebron must not have had a choice in which picture that he wanted because I can not imagine that he thought that open mouth shot was a good one.
Aretha Franklin’s Home Foreclosed For $445
Posted by BrianShe probably will not lose her home, but it makes for a good headline. Aretha Franklin’s home was entered in foreclosure proceedings last month due to $445 of unpaid taxed from 2005 and 2006. Through 2007, Aretha owes 19,192 in taxes which she says will be taken care of immediately.
Aretha says it is a mere oversight by her attorney and not a big deal. Assessment records list the market value at $712,000.
Yo-Yo To Host Hip-Hop Reality Show On VH1
Posted by BrianVH1 has definitely figured out that black reality shows can make them some money. This does not seem that it will be nearly as ridiculous as Flava of Love or I Love New York, but could be interesting in a first two weeks of American Idol kind of way.
Yo-Yo has signed on as the host of VH1’s latest Hip-Hop themed reality series, ego trip’s Miss Rap Supreme. The season will consist of eight episodes in search of the next female Hip-Hop Star.
The winner will receive $100,000 dollars and the title of “Miss Rap Supreme.”
I am not sure who the other nine contestants will be, but if I were the producer I would give her a shot.
