Could Kanye really sleep at night if he had a quiet wedding? I bet it would be tough!

MTV is reporting that Kanye married his girlfriend Alexis Phifer last month to fulfill his mother’s wishes. They allegedly had a secret ceremony in Europe. They have been engaged since 2006 when Kanye proposed while on a vacation in Italy.

It might be true that he is married, but that does not sound much like Kanye who is known to have a fit when he hasn’t had his way in the past. A secret ceremony obviously had to be her idea. If it is true, congrats!

Smokey Robinson on Def Poetry Jam .

Smokey Robinson gives probably the best performance ever on Def Poetry Jam. He mixes some real good comedy with a whole of facts. His performance is both funny and thought-provoking.

One of the most interesting things he says in the video is who gets to decide when our name keeps changing from Black to African-American. That is real good question because I sure didn’t get my vote. If you have not seen this video, definitely worth the minutes.

Floyd Mayweather Video.

I didn’t know wrestling was paying like that! Floyd Mayweather is being paid $20 million for his fight in the upcoming Wrestlemania 24. He will be fighting the big show who weighs in at 440 pounds. Mayweather is not even 170. It is pretty shocking that people will pay that type of money for something that they know is fake.

In the video you can see the Floyd could fit in this guy’s back pocket. If this were real life, the Big Show could hit Floyd so hard that I might feel it. But since we know itis fake and Floyd is coming up, I can’t knock the hustle.

The Democratic party should just tell Hillary to quit and stop spending money. Barack Obama easily won the Mississippi primary last night with 61% of the vote. There were 33 delegates at stake in last night’s primary which will be divided proportionally. So if Barack were counting, he would say “1 for you” and “2 for ME!”

CNN also is reporting that Obama won the Texas Caucus last week and by doing so, his number of delegates in Texas from the primary and caucus is more delegates than Hillary won in the state. I guess Hillary and Bill can keep lobbying for the Vice President’s job as they realize this race is over.

Since the news broke yesterday about New York Governor, Elliot Spitzer’s, involvement in a prostitution ring, it is most likely that he will have to step down from his post and hand it over to the Lt. Governor, David A. Paterson.

David Paterson would be the first African-American Governor for the State of New York.  Paterson, who is legally blind was born with no sight in his left eye and severely limited vision in his right. Paterson comes from a family of politicians as his father, Basil Paterson, was the first African American NYC Deputy Mayor and the first to run for statewide office in New York.

Not the ideal way he wanted to get the Governors job, but I am sure he would happily accept it. Unfortunately, Paterson is a super-delegate and supports Hilary Clinton. The current govenor is also a super-delegate and a Hilary supporter, but once he resigns, he will lose his super-delegate vote and it will not be replaced. So subtract one super-delegate from the Clinton camp.

A little off topic, but I know several readers that will enjoy this information. Fox is preparing a prequel of the 7th season that will air this fall, prior to the real season 7 airing in January. Season 7 was postponed for a year due to the writers strike. Jack Bauer being lock up in real life probably didn’t help out much either.

The prequel will only be two hours long and will air in the fall as a bridge to cover the two years between Season 6 and Season 7. As one of my boys said,  “If these are the same writers that gave us Jack Bauer landing a 747 on a two lane highway in Season 6, then they can stay on strike.”

As I write this post, I cringe thinking that they are going to write his daughter back into the script somehow. For fresh season of 24, I will even tolerate that. Will keep you posted when I find out more.
