Soul legend-turned minister Al Green has quit officiating weddings in his Memphis church due to a high number of tourists wanting to exchange vows before him. Green is a pastor at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, where star spotting has overshadowed religion and worship. He explains, “We destroyed the (waiting) list (because) there were too many people coming from Tokyo, from Seoul, from Arkansas, New York, California.”

I understand where he is coming from, but it would have been cool to exchange vows in front of Al Green, especially if sometime during the ceremony he started to sing Love and Happiness or Let’s Stay Together!
