Nelly Named Sean John Underwear Spokesmodel

Posted by Brian

Nelly is to front a new advertising campaign for hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Sean John Underwear line becoming the firm’s first ever spokesmodel.

He tells AllHipHop.com, “I’ve been a big fan of Diddy and the Sean John clothing line for years.

“So, when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it.”

And Combs is equally as pleased with the appointment: “I have known Nelly for many years and I really admire his work. To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man.

He has the attitude, the swagger, and most of all the physique that our customers can both aspire and relate to. And let’s be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign.”

Bow Wow has made amends with his producer pal Jermaine Dupri and is desperate to feature the hip-hop mogul on his upcoming LP – in one form or another.

The 21-year-old MC is currently in the midst of recording his new album Pedigree, and Bow Wow is confident mentor Dupri will be making a guest appearance on the project after the pair settled a previous dispute over creative control.

Former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell wed fiance Kristin Thompson in Dallas, Texas last weekend.
The pair exchanged vows before 300 guests, including rapper Doug E. Fresh, who DJ’d at the reception.

The newlyweds met two years ago at a delicatessen in Florida, and Campbell, 47, proposed last Halloween

Rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is planning to wed a woman 18 years his junior after reportedly proposing to sexy singer Cassie.

America’s Star magazine is reporting that Diddy, 39, has asked the 21-year-old R+B star, real name Cassandra Ventura, to be his wife.

Lil Wayne Facing More Legal Problems

Posted by Brian

Rapper Lil Wayne is facing legal action over accusations he has copied  The Rolling Stones in one of his songs.
Bosses at music publishing firm Abkco Music Inc. allege the star has released an alternate version of the British rockers’ hit Play With Fire, which the label owns the rights to, without their permission.

And they’ve branded Lil Wayne’s track an “explicit, sexist and offensive” rendition of the 1965 tune, according to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ.com.

The company is suing for copyright infringement and seeking unspecified damages.

I would have to assume that Lil Wayne is getting a good understanding of the phrase “more money, more problems!”

Book Company Sues Foxy and Lil’ Kim

Posted by Brian

Executives at a U.S. publishing company has launched legal action against Foxy Brown and Lil Kim accusing the rappers of failing to deliver books they were paid to write.

Lawyers for Simon + Schuster Inc filed papers on Thursday claiming Brown was paid $75,000 to deliver a book about her life, titled Broken Silence, by February 2006.
Lil’ Kim has been accused of taking a $40,000 payment for a novel which was due for completion in June 2004.

After signing the book deals, both women were sent to prison.  Lil’ Kim was jailed for a year in 2005 for lying about a shooting, and Brown spent eight months behind bars for violating her probation, stemming from a 2006 assault conviction.  She was released in April.

The New York-based publishing company is seeking remuneration for the advance payments which were awarded to the two artists.
