Morgan Freeman To Play Mandela

Posted by Brian

Morgan Freeman has accepted a role to play Nelson Mandela in a new film that will document the 1995 World Rugby Cup. Freeman is currently mastering Mandela’s voice and heavy accent in preparation for this film that is based on John Carlin’s book Nelson Mandela + The Game That Made a Nation. Shooting will begin early next year in South Africa where the World Rugby Cup was held that year. It should be a great story as South Africa won the world cup in 1995 + Nelson Mandela presented the Championship Trophy to the delight of a capacity crowd. Apartheid ended one year earlier in 1994!
