LL Cool J Reconsiders Def Jam…
Posted by KPopeDespite his unhappiness with the label, LL Cool J -real name James Todd Smith, has hinted that this may not be his last release on Def Jam. Last year, LL was very unhappy with label president Jay-Z accusing him of promoting and marketing his own albums rather than other label artists. He then aligned himself with 50 Cent’s G-Unit records on was on the verge of signing, but now he admits that he is reconsidering his future at the label. He says, “It’s my last record on the contract, but that doesn’t mean that our relationship is over.” Since then, Jay-Z has stepped down and has been replaced by music executive Shakir Stewart. Exit 13, the title of LL’s final Def Jam album will hit the stores later this summer.
