Spike Lee Brought In To Help Struggling Broadway Show
Posted by BrianFilmmaker SPIKE LEE has been called in to boost ticket sales for Broadway musical PASSING STRANGE, by shooting the show for TV.
The Oscar-nominated director will film three different performances of the play to create the movie, which will air on a U.S. cable network later this year. Despite rave reviews and a win at the recent Tony Awards, Passing Strange – about a young black musician who travels to Europe to find himself – has suffered at the box office since opening Spring last year.
I can only guess which cable network this shoe might appear on. I have narrowed it down to the CW, the WB, and quite possibly replace Belly as the Saturday night movie on BET. Hopefully, Spike can get it done.

cw,wb,bet? have you seen the show? its ignorant people like you ( i pray to god your not black), who are unsupportive & don’t know what your talking about that make it hard for new works by unknown black artists to thrive. sad. & ignorant
