Alicia Keys Plans to Retire at Age 30
Posted by RodR&B singer Alicia Keys, currently 27 years old, has decided she wants to retire by the age of 30 so she can spend the rest of her life traveling the world. Keys, who was honored early this year at the 1st Annual BET Honors Awards, often finds herself exasperated by the pressures of fame and in 2006 she took a break from music and travelled to Egypt to recuperate.
Now she insists that she hopes to be able to bow out of the entertainment industry in the next few years, so she can start enjoying her time. She says, “I am working hard now so I have the choice to retire when I want. I would like to travel the world and stay in places instead of having to move on like I do now. I want to experience difference cultures.”
As a fan I would definitely be a disappointed, but I think its a great idea. Why not get out when you are on top of your game and you have the resources and energy to still do the things you want to do. Its easy to forget, as a fan, the day to day grind entertainers go through with promotions, appearances and tours. But from the albums she’s already released it wouldn’t be too hard to put together a quality ‘Best of’ CD. By the time she’s 30 I think that will easily be a double disc.
Alicia Keys Wants To Adopt Like Jolie
Posted by BrianALICIA KEYS wants to follow in the footsteps of ANGELINA JOLIE and adopt a brood of multi-racial children. The singer insists she loves kids and working alongside South African orphans in 2006 charity movie, ‘We Are Together,’ made her excited to have children of her own. But the 28-year-old insists motherhood is on the backburner for now, while she pursues her singing career. Keys said:
“I’ve always loved kids. Kids are so important. It’s important to nurture and spend time with them and listen to them. “I’m not ready to be a mom. But (adoption) is something that is important to consider. That’s what I really admire about Angelina. I think it’s beautiful the way she embraces children of the world.” And she insists she would like to create a family of different cultures, like Jolie: “We are all one. We’re not as separate as we often times think. So I possibly would (adopt), when I’m more in the motherhood stage of my life.”
Adopting is great, but why does everyone have to travel around the world to some remote village to adopt. What about heading to on of the beat down cities of the U.S and scooping up a kid? As long as people are doing good with good intentions, I can’t knock it. But if you want to adopt, there are many children in need a whole lot closer than Sri Lanka or some of those other far away place.
Is Ne-Yo Trying to Get Closer To Alicia Keys?
Posted by RodR&B artist Ne-Yo has reportedly developed a crush on tourmate Alicia Keys, but fears she has no idea he’s smitten with her. The So Sick singer admits he hasn’t been obvious with his feelings for the R&B beauty, but he feels sure that her friends and bandmates all know how he feels about the sexy singer.
He says, “I don’t think she knows…When we’re passing each other in the halls, I’m like, ‘Hey Alicia.’ I just think she’s a beautiful person, inside and out. I mean she’s gorgeous…and she’s smart and she has a huge heart. She’s the total package.”
The pair are currently on the road in the U.S. as part of the As I Am tour, alongside former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.
At some point Ne-Yo has to come to the realization that he is one of the hottest songwriters in the game. He needs to incorporate all those adjectives he used to describe her and put them into a quick 4-8 bars. Sit her down on some one on one and come at her the correct way. Hopefully she doesn’t have a rejection song to sing back at him.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. Could this be our next R&B power couple?
