Will Smith Thinks Obama Will Change The World

Will Smith feels the same way that most other Barack Obama supporters feel, that Obama will “change the world forever”.
Will Smith has been a passionate supporter of the Barack Obama and appeared in a star-studded public service announcement advertisement to encourage people to go the polls. He was delighted to see Obama elected in November and views the historic appointment as life changing.
Smith tells British morning show GMTV,
“It’s not just revolutionary, it’s evolutionary. Never before in the history of the planet has someone, a group of people, moved from the slave class of empire to be elected to the top spot.”
And Smith will always look back on the day Obama was elected with fond memories – it brought his whole family together to witness the momentous occasion. He tells the BBC,
“It’s just such a huge moment for America and for the world, it’s something I believed was real and possible for so long. I carried myself around the world in that way as if it could be true, possible, so there’s a deep truth in me that was validated on November 4th. We watched it together as a family. With my kids it was no big deal, whereas for myself and for (wife) Jada, and even more so for our parents, who lived through the struggle for equality, it was so huge, but for our kids the world is different. The worldhas changed forever. The ideas and the fibres that are created for America have never been more true than today.”
Fortunately, for Obama, President Bush has set the bar so low that improvement should be easy. The difficult part will be living up to the expectations that have been set for him and he, indirectly, set for himself. Somehow, I don’t think he is too concerned.
Sarah Palin Interview With Katie Couric
Posted by BrianAfter watching Part 1 of the Sarah Palin interview with Katie Couric, it is almost sad what the Republican party has done with Sarah Palin. It is very clear to anyone that is paying attention that she is thoroughly unprepared, but the real tragedy is that she could have possibly had a political future. Her inability over these last few weeks to answer any questions is almost frightening that she could still possibly end up only a heart beat away from being the President. Palin has only been asked rather basic questions and almost nothing in regards to policy. Saying it is nice as I can, she is proving to be an absolutely terrible selection for VP.
Every time that the media is given access to Palin, which I sure will be rare, she will further embarrass herself and show that John McCain’s selection of her was simply an underestimation of women and their intelligence in the belief that they would support another woman although she is grossly unqualified.
Now it makes more sense why the McCain camp is trying to reschedule the debates. They are trying to train her behind closed doors very quickly, but it’s hard to teach a pit bull with lipstick new tricks.

Rumormill: Obama to Bring Kanye Out @ Lollapalooza
Posted by BrianBarack Obama is rumored to be introducing Kanye West at a performance at a Chicago festival in a bid to appeal to hip hop fans. Apparently, Obama has a slot free in his schedule to appear at the three-day Lollapalooza festival and is expected to make a brief appearance onstage. The politician recently told U.S. TV show What’s In It For Us, “I’ve met with Kanye. And I’ve talked to other artists about how potentially to bridge that gap. I think the potential for them to deliver a message of extraordinary power that gets people thinking is massive.” The Lollapalooza festival takes place in Chicago, Illinois’ Grant Park from August 1-3rd.
Obama Raises $52 Million in June
Posted by BrianBarack Obama continues to set campaign donation records by raising another $52 million dollars in June. The most interesting aspect of the money that he raised is that the average donation is only $68. So that is a lot of people that are giving to his campaign.
Obama now has $72 million of cash on hand that he can spend on his General Election. That is a lot of TV commercials and direct mail coming your way. Obama even did his part last month to help Hillary pay her debt.
Obama Tags Hip-Hop Artists For Convention
Posted by BrianThis year’s Democratic National Convention should be more entertaining than most as Obama has grabbed a few hip-hop entertainers for the show. Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Wyclef Jean will be performing at this years event.
Obama has been heavily supported by Hollywood and is using some of the star power for entertainment. I almost feel compelled to throw in one of those jokes about changes at the White House when there is a black President, but I will refrain.
Jay-Z Talks Politics and Buying The Yankees
Posted by BrianJay-Z recently sat down with Time Out Magazine and had some pretty interesting tidbits that he discussed. Some of the more interesting comments and answers are listed below
So what else do you get up to when you’re in town?
‘I’m a pretty big, almost a professional, gambler. I’m not gonna say any names because that’ll mess it all up, but there’re these little private clubs you can go to in the West End where you can hang out and gamble, and it’s pretty cool. And you know, I’m a foodie, so I’m always in search of the next good meal. There are plenty of great restaurants out there.’
You own a share of [basketball team] the New Jersey Nets. What’s this we hear about you potentially investing in Arsenal?
‘I had invested in the Nets, and they [Arsenal] asked me if I was interested in investing. But I get that from time to time. Someone told me yesterday that someone else had a piece of the New York Yankees – “We wanna talk to you, yadda yadda yadda.†I mean, I love the Yankees so I’m in the middle of following that through, but sometimes it comes to be something and sometimes it comes to be nothing. That was one of the times it came to nothing.’
You’ve just released a split single with the other famous rap Carter, Lil Wayne. Did you hear about what happened when he played at Stratford Rex a few months ago?
‘No, what happened?’ Read the rest of this entry »
