Keith Olbermann Speaks On Hilary Clinton

Keith Olbermann Speaks on Hillary Clinton.

If you are not familiar with Keith Olbermann, he is a tv personality on MSNBC that usually has pretty well thought out opinions on a variety of topics that are usually on point. I remember him from his days on Sportscenter.

Olbermann makes some really good points in his passionate speech about his thought regarding Hillary Clinton and her response, or lack thereof, to the comments made by Geraldine Ferraro. What I find most interesting in this video is the pure statement of facts. If you have been reading this blog, you know that I am a supporter of Barack Obama, but a lot of the coverage of these campaigns from all angles is much more opinion than facts. Olbermann did a very good job of backing up his thoughts with examples of actual events that have occurred. This is the type of coverage we need from all news outlets.

Easy Win in Mississippi For Obama

Posted by Brian

Barack Obama & Hilary Clinton

The Democratic party should just tell Hillary to quit and stop spending money. Barack Obama easily won the Mississippi primary last night with 61% of the vote. There were 33 delegates at stake in last night’s primary which will be divided proportionally. So if Barack were counting, he would say “1 for you” and “2 for ME!”

CNN also is reporting that Obama won the Texas Caucus last week and by doing so, his number of delegates in Texas from the primary and caucus is more delegates than Hillary won in the state. I guess Hillary and Bill can keep lobbying for the Vice President’s job as they realize this race is over.

Obama Wins Wyoming

Posted by Brian

Barack Obama & Hilary Clinton

Strange how the media works!! In the most hotly contested Democratic nomination in years, if not ever, Barack Obama’s win of the Wyoming primary over the weekend went fairly unnoticed. Hate to take the obvious route and call media bias, but I will. Typically, Wyoming would be fairly insignificant with only 12 delegates, but in an election where it is obvious that every delegate will matter, the the lack of media coverage for Obama is pretty ridiculous.

Since this blog makes me an official part of the media, I will cover it here. Ok, maybe not an official part of the media, but who’s keeping score. Either way, Obama’s continued domination of Clinton in pledged delegates only increases the shadiness that will be necessary among the super-delegates in order for Clinton to receive the Democratic Nomination.

I have heard people voice their opinions in different ways, but will you find it difficult to support Hilary Clinton in the General Election if she receives the Democratic Nomination by way of Super Delegates although, she will have lost the pledged delegates and the popular vote? I am still a little torn on that one, although I know that either Hilary or Barack will be better for the nation as a whole than John McCain. If Obama gets undercut at this point I can only see it as shady, then I am going to have a real difficult time with supporting Hilary. Not that I don’t think that Hilary is a great candidate, but that it keeps up is the same vicious cycle of dirty politics that will do anything to anyone just to get elected. Not to mention the shadiness will have happened to the first presidential candidate that has caused me to be very interested in my lifetime.

Since Barack will win the nomination, this is all hypothetical, but a good discussion at any rate.

Barack Obama Being Undercut By NAACP

Posted by Brian

 Julian Bond & Barack Obama

By winning Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. in landslide victories, Barack Obama has won 8 states in the last two weeks verses none for Clinton. According to CNN estimates, Obama now leads Clinton in the delegate count. Let the real shadyness begin.

We all have known for over a year that the delegates for Florida and Michigan would not count and for that reason no one campaigned in those states. There are some that pushing hard for those votes to count so that Hilary can steal this election.

NAACP chairman Julian Bond sent a letter to Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean expressing ”great concern” at what he says is the prospect that millions of voters in the two states could “have their votes completely discounted.” And he says the refusal to seat the delegations could remind voters of “racially discriminatory primaries.”

Why speak up now?

The worst part of this election has been the lack of support that Obama has received from the alleged “leaders” of the black community. I would not expect them all to support him as their are many reasons why people make decisions in politics, but they all are against him. The only one I can half remember offering his support is Jesse Jackson and then he followed that up by blasting him for not going down to support the Jena 6. Good move Barack!

Now that Obama has the lead, it will be interesting to see who else is used as a puppet. The worse part is when they all have to smile in Obama’s face as President and tell the lie during their own re-election campaigns about how they supported him from the start. I wonder who will be the next surprise that the Clinton’s set up to try and stop the steam rolling she has taken for the last few weeks.

Obama Raises Over $7.2 Million Since Super Tuesday

Posted by Brian

Barack Obama

While Hilary is using her own stacksto fund her campaign, Obama is on pace to set a single month record by raising over $7 million since Tuesday. He raised over $3 million in the first 24 hours. The really interesting aspect is that 90% of the people that donate to Obama, donate less than $100. Some as little as $10 or $20.

The huge surge was caused by an e-mail sent out by Obama’s campaign, David Plouffe, asking for donations to match the $5 million the Clinton’s gave to their campaign. In the e-mail he estimates the Clinton’s may have to give up to $20 million to keep their campaign going. Bill better start booking speaking engagements or write a book real soon

Update: After checking back in the 10 minutes that it has taken to write this post, he has now raised $7.6 million! Wow!

Hilary Clinton Donates $5 Million To Her Own Campaign

Posted by Brian

Hilary Clinton

I hoped she ran this by Bill before she wrote the check. While Barack Obama set a record in January raising $32 million, Hilary had to chip in $5 million of her own money to her campaign. That was to offset the $13 million that she raised, less than half of Obama.

Is putting $5 million towards a job that pays $400,000 a good investment? Maybe so if you have a bunch things lined up to hook up your homies. George W. would probably say it is worth ten times that much if not more. I would like to be a fly on the wall when her and Bill have that talk when she loses.
