Can Jennifer Hudson Top Whitney Houston’s Superbowl Performance?
Posted by Brian
Jennifer Hudson will get her chance to try.
Jennifer Hudson will make her return to public performance by singing the American National Anthem before the SuperBowl in Tampa, Florida. The Oscar-winning singer/actress went into hiding following the brutal murders of her mother, brother and nephew in October.
But she won’t be waiting for 6 February (09), when she’s billed to perform at a MusiCares Neil Diamond tribute in Hollywood, to return to public life – she’s planning a trip to Tampa. Hudson has not appeared in public since her mother Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King were shot to death. Her sister’s estranged husband, William Balfour, has been charged with the murders.
She was reported to be among the stars performing at Barack Obama’s inauguration in Washington, D.C. next week (20Jan09), but that rumour was shot down by her publicist.

Jennifer Hudson Keeps Her Man
Posted by BrandonJennifer Hudson in a recent interview has declared that she is keeping her man, her maintenance man that is.Â
When asked if she would be leaving her man for some Hollywood action. J HUD, representing her CHI-TOWN roots responded by saying, “Why would I”.
She says “… anyone at this point would just be getting with the Jennifer Hudson from American Idol or Dream Girls not the true Jennifer Hudson”. Yeah she went third person on us.Â
I give it less than year. The funny things is it probably will not be Hudson to break it off. It’ll be the maintenance engineer that will pop off with a jealous line like “Go ahead I dont need you”. You know that male envy and pride will kill this relationship. I will not be there but i can just hear a line like, “I made you”.Â
She should have upstaged B one more time and made “Upgrade You”

Was Beyonce Trying to Outshine Jennifer Hudson?
Posted by BrianI have read this in a few other blogs and I have watched this several times and I am still not sure. Either way it is one hell of a performance, but with all of the rumors about the beef between the two and it being rumored Beyonce was unhappy with the success that Jennifer has received, you have to wonder.
When watching the video, about the 3:15 mark to the end of their performance, It does look like Beyonce is trying to one up Jennifer a bit. What do you think?
Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitaker Win Oscars
Posted by BrianThe 79th Annual Academy Awards turned out to be history for Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitaker as they both won Oscars.
Jennifer Hudson won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Dreamgirls” and Forest Whitaker won for Best Actor.
With the amount of media coverage that Jennifer has had lately, it was not much of a surprise, but we all know how it can look obvious and then someone win the award for a movie you have never even heard of. Just another big step for what I expect will be a huge 2007 for her.
Jennifer Hudson on Cover of Life Magazine
Posted by BrianAnother cover for Jennifer Hudson. This time it is Life Magazine. She has a really good interview in which she answers some questions that are a little different than normal. Here are a couple of excerpts:
A RAY OF HOPE
“[After filming, costar] Jamie Foxx would call me every Sunday and say ‘I’ve been down the same road you’re going down.’ And I’d say, ‘Me? No way.’ And he’d say, ‘Yeah, you’re gonna be there—the Golden Globes, the Oscars.’ It’s so great to have somebody to lean on when things are changing so fast. He’s my lifesaver.”
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MISS JENNY HUDSON
Hudson made her stage debut singing the gospel power ballad “Ask in My Name” at a party for her great-great-grandmother’s ninety-first birthday. “I was about 9, and everybody was laughing when they saw my name in the program, saying ‘Oh, that’s so cute—Jenny’s gonna sing.’ By the time I finished, everybody was standing up, cheering. That’s when people started taking me seriously.”
I think it is pretty cool, for Jamie Foxx gave her that type of support. To read the full article, you can see it here.
