Did Bussa Bus say to the judge ‘Gimme Some Mo’?

It seems that way. Busta Rhymes aka Trevor Smith, faces four separate trials in New York City.  Two assault trials, and two moving violation charges.  Prosecutors aren’t saying how much time he faces on all of those charges, but Busta was offered 1 year in jail to plea to all the counts and he turned it down.  His Lawyers are confident he can beat the charges.

I don’t know about ya’ll but four cases is four too many for me, but at least Busta Rhymes know ‘What it is Now’

If you are like me, a child of the 80’s, you could only hope that the latest Transformers movie did the cartoon justice. The previews did not show much at all. I was intrigued, but I was also cautious about what I was going to watch. I wondered if the director and producers would be able to capture the emotion and awe that the original Transformers inspired. They succeeded. I knew they had done their job during the scene when Optimus Prime first appeared in the movie. I found myself talking to the screen and clapping when it was all said and done. By no means is Transformers a cinematic classic, but it is fun and it was done right.  Go see it and let me know what you think.

Anika Noni Rose is doing it really big right now. In addition to her project with Jill Scott, she has signed on to voice Maddy in Disney’s The Frog Princess. Rose will become Disney’s first black princess in the first hand-drawn film Disney has committed to since the Pixar purchase. The film promises to feature the types of songs that Disney films have become famous for over the years.

The Frog Written/directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the animated musical scored by Randy Newman, is set in New Orleans. The movie follows Maddy, a young African-American girl who lives in the infamous French Quarter. The new movie will feature a soulful singing crocodile and voodoo spells. (WTF)

I don’t know about ya’ll but I have sisters and growing up watching those Disney movies, they always wanted to be a princess so it good to see Anika continuing to do her thing and that little Black girls get to see themselves as princesses on the big screen, but what’s up with the “voodoo spells?” I’m thinking that a lot of Black mothers will not be sending their kids to watch anything like that, but then maybe again they will since our parents didn’t seem to have any problems letting us watch wicked witches and evil stepmothers.  We’ll have to wait and see.

  

Ummh, ummh, ummh (not sure if you can really start a blog like this, but those were my first words upon hearing this news) Paris Hilton was released from jail early Thursday due to an unspecified medical condition (she’s allergic to the real world) after serving only three days of a 23-day sentence. (Shoot it takes some brothers 3 days just to round up their bail money on a traffic warrant charge) She was sent home with an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet and must remain there for 40 days, according to sheriffs spokesman Steve Whitmore. (Don’t forget that her house is the size of a small village with all the amenities of a 5-star Hilton hotel.)  Hilton checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood on Sunday night to begin serving time for violating probation.Hilton was housed in the “special needs” unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates. She didn’t have a cellmate.When she was sentenced May 4, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled that she would not be allowed any work release, furloughs or use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail. (Yeah right! She got time off for “rich behavior.” The judge must have felt bad for her after the way Sarah Silverman clowned her at the MTV Movie Awards show on Sunday before she went to jail.)Sheriff’s officials had said she would serve about 23 days of her 45 day sentence behind bars because of state rules allowing shorter sentences for good behavior.

The star of “The Simple Life” reality TV show pleaded no contest to a reckless-driving charge in January and was sentenced to 36 months’ probation. When she was later pulled over by the California Highway Patrol, Hilton was told that she was driving on a suspended license and signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive. She was then pulled over by sheriff’s deputies on Feb. 27 and charged with violating probation.

I’ll tell you what, this whole thing is a shame. This really makes you wonder if there is any justice in the American justice system.  And white people still wonder why so many Black people cheered when O. J. got off, we didn’t care if he was guilty or not, it was just nice to know that even Black people could get a “fair” shot at justice if we have enough money.  This Paris Hilton thing is bull, you know the only reason they let her out was because they are some Racist…well you know. 

 If you listen closely this summer in the blockbuster hit “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” you can hear LF’s voice.  Larry (which was his name back in the day) is the voice of the Silver Surfer. 

Fishburne is heading to Vancouver to begin shooting the crime thriller “Tortured”.  The filming begins Monday on the film that centers around an FBI agent (Cole Hauser) who infiltrates a crime syndicate and has to torture one of the accountants played by Fishburne.

If you want toture you can watch Biker Boys and see LF in the tightest purple shirt ever…

Eddie Murphy’s new movie Norbit is being protested by activist and community leaders nationwide as they say his portrayal of a “Fat black woman” is direspectful and humiliating to black women. This pic is pretty ridiculous.

Eddie you are funnier than that! Although I did think Nutty Professor was a hilarious movie, it seems that in this movie his portrayal of multiple characters has crossed the line. Afrobella writes a pretty interesting article on the topic here.
