Heartbreak! Both Will Smith and Ne-Yo have told recent stories about heartbreak that drives them to success.
Ne-Yo says the woman behind his hit love songs is his ex.
The woman behind R+B sensation NE-YO’s pained love songs knows she’s helping to make her ex millions - because he keeps telling her. The singer/songwriter admits new song Stop the World and hits So Sick and Do You are all inspired from one broken romance - and he still speaks to the ex-girlfriend who broke his heart when he was a teenager. He says, “I talk to her from time to time. She knows she’s responsible. Her man knows, her daughter knows, and they’re flattered. “She makes for great song lyrics, but she better not ask for 10 per cent.”
Will says heartbreak at 15 is why he works so hard also.
Actor WILL SMITH has credited an unlikely woman as the source of his superstardom - his cheating ex-girlfriend. The 39-year-old former rapper has made a name in Hollywood for himself with lead roles in high-grossing action and sci-fi hits including Men In Black and Independence Day. And Smith admits it was the unfaithful act of a former lover during his youth that drove him to excel in acting.
He says, “My first girlfriend cheated on me when I was 15 years old, and I processed in my mind that she cheated on me because I was not good enough. My first thought is that they need to quit acting soft and get over it, but with the success that they have had, can’t really knock the hustle.
Ne-Yo Tops the U.K. Singles Chart

British rockers Coldplay have been ousted from the top of the U.K. singles chart by R&B singer Ne-Yo. The band’s latest release ‘Viva La Vida’ topped the chart last wee, but the track has now been beaten into second place by Ne-Yo’s latest hit ‘Closer.’
American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has leapt up seven places to number three with ‘No Air’ featuring Chris Brown. And Brown himself is at number four with ‘Forever.’
The top five is rounded out by Brown’s rumored girlfriend Rihanna, who is at five with ‘Take A Bow.’
Is Ne-Yo Trying to Get Closer To Alicia Keys?

R&B artist Ne-Yo has reportedly developed a crush on tourmate Alicia Keys, but fears she has no idea he’s smitten with her. The So Sick singer admits he hasn’t been obvious with his feelings for the R&B beauty, but he feels sure that her friends and bandmates all know how he feels about the sexy singer.
He says, “I don’t think she knows…When we’re passing each other in the halls, I’m like, ‘Hey Alicia.’ I just think she’s a beautiful person, inside and out. I mean she’s gorgeous…and she’s smart and she has a huge heart. She’s the total package.”
The pair are currently on the road in the U.S. as part of the As I Am tour, alongside former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.
At some point Ne-Yo has to come to the realization that he is one of the hottest songwriters in the game. He needs to incorporate all those adjectives he used to describe her and put them into a quick 4-8 bars. Sit her down on some one on one and come at her the correct way. Hopefully she doesn’t have a rejection song to sing back at him.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. Could this be our next R&B power couple?
Alicia Keys Honored At 1st Annual BET Honors Awards

BET held their 1st annual BET Honors awards over the weekend and the winners were:
-Entrepreneur. Janice Bryant Howroyd, CEO, ACT*1 Personnel Services
-Corporate citizen. Richard D. Parsons, chairman, Time Warner
-Education. Cornel West, professor of religion and African-American Studies, Princeton University
-Media. Tyra Banks, executive producer, America’s Next Top Model and The Tyra Banks Show
-Public service. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif.
-Entertainment. Alicia Keys, singer/songwriter
Alicia Key’s said “For me, I’m just a girl still from Harlem, and here I am, It’s a tremendous feeling to do what you love and for people to love what you do. … People are honoring me for doing what my heart tells me to do, (and that is) so fulfilling.”
As far as I know, Richard Parsons is the last remaining Black Chairman of a Fortune 100 compnay. He was previously CEO as well, but stepped down from that post at the beginning of the month.
This will be one of the few decent shows that you can tolerate on BET.
Ne-Yo Next In Line To Take R. Kelly To Court

For those artist that have not figured it out, R. Kelly is not the person you want to go on tour with. It just does not work! Much like the Best of Both Worlds Tour a few years back with Jay-Z, Ne-Yo is saying that Kells was pissed because his show was tighter than his. Can everyone be lying on Kells?
Well, Ne-Yo wants his money for the canceled dates and is suing R. Kelly for $785,000. This is the payment for the remaining dates. Maybe I am out of my mind, but I thought popular artists made WAY more than that for that many shows. Guess that is why they are constantly out there grinding.
It might be a while before Ne-Yo can get Kells to court because there are a couple of cases already in front of him.
Video Vixen Strikes Again

Karrine Steffans strikes again. The “author” of “Confessions of Video Vixen” that 2 years ago sold almost 400,000 copies is back to her name dropping story telling ways. Her new book is called Vixen Diaries where she gives up more info about her celebrity sexcapades.

On her relationship with Ne-Yo.
Ne-Yo and I are friends, but he’s just not my type of person. I had to have a conversation with him because he thought that I had written a detailed description of our sex life in my book. Instead of asking me, he responded to a reporter’s question in a tone that I didn’t appreciate, implying that I’d been telling lies about our relationship. I never claimed him as my boyfriend. Once I told him he wasn’t in my book, then he was cool.
On the public’s perception that she sleeps around and writes about it.
Again, I don’t have as much sex as people think I do. Honestly, I don’t even want to have sex. I am focused on my company and making things happen. So, again, I haven’t slept with as many people as most think I have, and my sex life is really not that different from anyone else’s.
On allegations that Irv Gotti was more of a pimp than a friend.
Irv allowed me to live, and I love him to pieces for that. Whenever there was a music conference or big investors visiting the city who needed to be shown a good time, I was the “good time.” Although the circumstances were a little shady, the people I met during that time in my life are still around and I wouldn’t be where I am without them, and I still love them.
Okay I don’t blame her for writing another book. She is selling these tell all books for nearly 25 bucks, and is making a fortune off of them. Her last book got her on Oprah. Stop playing. If your book is mentioned on Oprah you can just start counting the dollars. Ask Mr Frey.
Now this 29 year old vixen is fine but these celebs aren’t dumb enough not to know her past. Fool me once… People have to know who they are dealing with and whats going to come of it. These famous cats are truly losing themselves into fine women, ask Reggie Bush (I aint mad though i saw the sex tape). But on the real if you deal with this Digger then you have to expect your name to come out somewhere along the line. But its good publicity for anyone that isn’t married, Aint that right Bobby Brown.
If I were famous and she was around, I guess my name would be in the next book cause she would GET IT
