Doesn’t sound like the best reason to get married, but Nick Cannon insisted on rushing his new bride up the aisle – because he didn’t want friends to bombard the couple with pre-wedding questions.
The couple married after only a six-week romance and admits he didn’t want to hear from family and friends who thought the wedding was premature.
Nick says,

“We really kept the whole relationship aspect of it quiet… because that would have been not quiet or private. I think we didn’t want to give people a chance to be like, ‘What are you doing? What are you talking about? This is so quick. Are you sure?’”

We’ll sorry to tell you Nick, but people are still saying that. Seems like he is defending his decision quite a bit.

Rapper/actor NICK CANNON has laughed off rumours his marriage to MARIAH CAREY is on the rocks, insisting they couldn’t be happier. Reports alleged that Cannon was tiring of the R+B superstar’s demands, with one source telling OK! magazine, “He’s basically around to attend to her diva-ish ways.”
But Cannon has dismissed the claims.

He tells People.com, “Marriage is amazing. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

For some reason I think he may be telling the truth although I had my doubts to begin with. Hopefully, they are for real, but Nick said pretty much the same thing a year ago when engaged to Selita Ebanks for a short period of time.

Less than a year after her broken engagement to Nick Cannon, Selita Ebanks insists she’s “truly happy” for her ex after he wed MARIAH CAREY in April.

The model, who has been romantically linked with Kanye West and New York Giants American football star Osi Umenyiora since splitting from Cannon, says, “I have not spoken to Nick in such a long time, but I am truly happy for him. I think it’s amazing when two people find love, and they just know. It’s a very blissful thing, and they are blessed. You can’t hate on love.”

Since most people assumed that her engagement to Nick was a publicity stunt anyway, probably pretty easy to not care what he does now. At least she is saying all the right things.

After many many many false rumors about an engagement, Nick Cannon pops the question to his girlfriend and model, Selita Ebanks.

A ex-boyfriend of Selita Banks is reporting that Selita Ebanks left him for Nick Cannon because he gets more press and that they were together as recently as Valentine’s Day. 

Page Six quotes her ex-boyfriend, Marc Chamblin, as saying:

“Selita Ebanks is so desperate, she’ll do anything to become a famous actress.”

“She told me over the phone that she is doing this for press and she is sorry,”

Chamblin says he was still dating Ebanks, and had spent Valentine’s Day with her and given her $15,000 worth of gifts from Cartier and Tiffany just days before she left for Vegas with Cannon. He also claims she was two-timing them both with a third man, Tad Kornegay of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Canadian Football League team.  

 ”She wanted to be more than a model,” Chamblin continued. “She wanted to sing at first, so I put her in the studio. But she can’t sing. Then she wanted to be an actress so I got her a publicist and an agent . . . but she can’t act, either.”

 Ebanks’ high-powered lawyer says the ex-manager is an obsessive, jilted lover who can’t let her go.

 Ebanks’ lawyer, Marty Singer, fumed, “She broke up with him in December. He’s been pursuing her. He’s obsessed with her. He has no credibility by claiming he was with her on Valentine’s Day when there are e-mails from him desperate to have her come meet him – and she denied him.”

Previously it was reported that Nick Cannon and Selita got married in Vegas after being together only three weeks. The two have confirmed that they are not married, but are very happy together.

In an article in People, Selita Banks says “”I’m not married,” she said. “We’re just two young people and we’re happy. I laugh a lot and he laughs a lot and I think that’s what’s important. I support him and he supports me.”

About Selita, Nick says “Selita’s amazing, She changed me – I’m no longer a player. She changed everything.”

Hopefully this works out! We have all seen how these Hollywood marriages can go….wait, we have seen how marriages in general can go. If they are truly that happy, just make it last.
