The US Marshall came and repossesed a $1.5 million yacht owned by Latrell Sprewell. The marshall acted on a court order held by a NY bank that plans to sell the yacht for $1.3 million to pay off the mortgage owed.

According to the bank, Sprewell’s firm, LSF Marine Holdings hasn’t paid its $10,000 mothly payments on time nor maintained the necessary insurance on the boat as well.

Sprewell, 36, played 13 NBA seasons and was a four-time All-Star. The Milwaukee native has not played professional basketball since turning down a three-year, $21 million extension from the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2004-05 season.

Its obvious that my dude is having some financial troubles… but as DBo told Big Red in Friday…That’s My Bike Punk! I just hope Sprewell doesn’t cry in the car ;)

Mike Vick Pleads Guilty; Falcons QB Cops a Plea

Posted by Shakeer

Vick’s attorney says the Atlanta Falcons quarterback will plead guilty to a dogfighting conspiracy charge and probably faces jail time.  Vick will enter a guilty plea to the felony conspiracy charge next Monday (8-27-07).  “Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made. Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter.

It is not yet known how much, if any time Vick will spend in jail.  U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson, who is presiding over the case, said he has the leeway to sentence Vick and his co-defendants as he deems fit and is not bound by the recommended sentences given to him by the prosecution.

In addition to the legal implications, Vick still will face punishment from the NFL.  We may not see him again for 2-3 years.  It’s a shame he got caught up in this mess.  I know a lot of people will have differing opinions on this case, but it’s a shame that anybody could get caught up in something like this becasue they were trying to look out for their boys or trying to stay “real”.  It’s another lesson learned that no matter how much money you have, you can still get caught up in the blackhole that is street life which is pulling so many Black males in.

Tiger Wins 13th Career Major

Tiger Woods won the PGA championship yesterday by two strokes in Tulsa, OKLA at the Southern Hills Country Club, giving him his 13th career major. He finished at 8 under par for the tournament, sinking many key putts and striking numerous amazing shots.

There was a slight scare as Tiger’s knee seemed to buckle after celebrating a 25 foot putt on a par three-8th Hole. The knee must not have bothered him too much as he claimed victory and a hold of the Wanamaker Trophy.

Hands Down, Tiger Woods is the #1 player in the World without a doubt!!!!

Barry Bonds Hits Home Run 756 To Break The Record

Barry Bonds

Barry Bonds hit the 756th Home Run of his career to break one of the greatest records of all time in sports. What excites me the most about Barry breaking the record is that he was able to keep hammering home runs under such scrutiny.

All of the steroid allegations against Bonds are just that, alleged. He has not been charged, tested positive, or found guilty of cheating in anyway. There are mixed opinions amongst people as to whether an asterisk goes by the record, but I tend to believe that much of the hatred and discontent with Bonds comes from the media. As I watched the highlights of Bonds tying the record on Saturday night, there where mainly cheers and a few boos. But to read about it later, I would have believed there was not a cheer in the crowd.

We often look back at players in the past and hold there accomplishments at a higher level when we consider the racism that they had to deal with in their time. What Barry Bonds has dealt with in the last few years has to equal, if not exceed, the pressure that those players have felt.

A good example of the type of B.S. that Bonds has had to deal with has been the actions of the commissioner. When the record was tied on Saturday night, the commissioner, Bud Selig, did not even clap, but decided to put his hands in his pocket. Selig was not in attendance for the record breaking night, but issued this ridiculous and insulting statement to the press:

“While the issues which have swirled around this record will continue to work themselves toward resolution,” Selig said, “today is a day for congratulations on a truly remarkable achievement.”

If that is not a backhanded compliment I do not know what is. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wrote a very good blog post congratulating Bonds for doing it his way. He says Bonds never let the media scrutiny change the way he handled his business and he always put his family first.

If Cuban can congratulate Bonds, why can’t the commissioner of Major League Baseball? That’s okay Barry cause the rest of recognize greatness and applaud your accomplishments.

Say It Ain’t So Pac Man…Say It Ain’t So

As if news about our professional Black athletes wasn’t already bad, it may have just gotten worse!!! Apparently Pac Man Jones is in discussion with TNA Wrestling about joining their organization since NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended him for 10 games. Now it hasn’t been confirmed that Pac Man will be apart of TNA, but it is possible an announcement will be made as early as today.

Is he serious? This brother is one of the best punt returners in the league and a pretty damn good corner, but instead of concentrating on doing what he needs to do get reinstated for the last 6 games he contemplating wrestling. That career move would probably be synonymous to Cuba Gooding Jr. signing on to Daddy Day Camp.

Oh well if he is considering it, let us consider a few possible names for Pac Man:

1. FOP (forever on probation) 2. King Assault 3. Mr. 81Gs

Somebody get this brother a power pellet so he can start making some better life decisions.

One of the co-defendants in the Michael Vick federal dogfighting case entered a guilty plea on Monday and pledged to fully cooperate with prosecutors. Tony Taylor, 34, of Hampton, Virginia, appeared in Richmond’s federal court to change his plea under the plea bargain. He will be sentenced December 14.

Taylor, along with Vick, 27, Purnell Peace, 35, of Virginia Beach, and Quanis Phillips, 28, of Atlanta, had pleaded not guilty Thursday before U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson. The trial for all four defendants is scheduled for November 26.
