Rapper LUDACRIS is crusading to get hip-hop fans into baseball.
The Disturbing Tha Peace label boss has teamed up with Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim star Torii Hunter to create a new online competition for budding rappers to create a theme song for the slugger.

Hunter says, “Ludacris and I were sitting around and thinking of ways to get urban kids into baseball, and one was through music.”

NE-YO FORGIVES SPEARS FOR ALBUM SNUB

Posted by Brian

R+B singer NE-YO has forgiven BRITNEY SPEARS for not using any of his songs on her last album - insisting there is no “animosity” between the pair.
Ne-Yo penned six tracks for Spears to record for her hit 2007 album Blackout - but not one of the songs made it on to the final version of the LP.
But the singer/songwriter isn’t bitter about the decision - and is adamant that he can’t feel bad about the snub as he has never met the Toxic hitmaker.
He tells MSNBC.com, “I never met Britney Spears, I can’t have animosity with someone I don’t know. You have way bigger fish to fry, little mama, than me about a couple songs.

“I tried to call her, call her people. They didn’t want to return a phone call, so I said all right, well, I guess I will take these songs that were written for Britney and give them to other people. Time is money.” (LR/WNWCPS/ZN)

DUPRI CLOSES EATERY

Posted by Brian

JERMAINE DUPRI has blamed the ailing U.S. economy for the closure of his restaurant Cafe Dupri.
The hip-hop producer has been forced to close the doors of the health-conscious eatery - launched in Atlanta, Georgia in 2005 - after failing to turn a profit over the years.
And he insists it is the nation’s dire financial situation which has brought about the establishment’s termination.
Dupri tells AllHipHop.com, “The economy has changed dramatically and people just aren’t eating out as much anymore.
“People are cutting back everywhere and a lot of companies, including Cafe Dupri, are feeling the effect.

“For the past two months business at the Cafe has been down and if the business isn’t making money, I feel it’s a smart move to shut it down. Bottom line: If it doesn’t make money, it doesn’t make sense.”
