Lil Wayne’s-Tha Carter III is atop the US Charts for its 3rd week. Tha Carter III debuted at number one with over one million sales last month but the album was toppled by Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, which spent one week on top. Lil Wayne rebounded to the top spot once again last week (July 9th).

With all the debate about who are the hottest MC’s in the game, Rapper LIL WAYNE has done something that only a handful of artist in any genre have done lately which is sell over 1 million copies in the first week. He has stunned chart watchers by debuting his new album Tha Carter III at the top of the new Billboard 200.

It’s the first time any artist has scored a sales week of over a million copies of an album since 50 Cent debuted big with The Massacre in 2005. It’s a good week for rap and hip-hop all round as Plies debuts Definition of Real at two, with 215,000 opening week sales. Usher’s Here I Stand also made the top 5 in album sales for the week
